WSTDA Warning
Products Policy
Last fall, WSTDA unveiled a new set of
warnings products available in English, Spanish and French. The new
warnings include fabric warning labels for web slings, round slings and
tie downs and paper safety bulletins for web slings, round slings and
tie downs.
WSTDA’s Legal Resource Committee developed uniform/ defensible product
warnings, in conjunction with Dr. Stephen Young, Applied Safety and
Ergonomics, Inc. (ASE), a human factors expert. The Association has
committed tremendous resources toward this initiative over the past
three years.
As a reminder, WSTDA has copyrighted its warning labels and bulletins.
The Association’s policy is that
all Regular members
are permitted to purchase the warning labels and bulletins from WSTDA,
which include the WSTDA insignia. Use of the WSTDA insignia on warning
products not furnished by WSTDA is prohibited.
Some members have inquired about the availability of a licensing
agreement, enabling them to print the labels and bulletins overseas for
use with their products. We have made these agreements available to some
companies, at their request. Anyone interested in purchasing a licensing
agreement should contact WSTDA headquarters at 443.640-1070 to discuss
terms.
Please feel free to contact WSTDA staff if you have additional questions
about WSTDA’s policy or the availability of our new warnings products.
